So what happens when your key fob isn’t working and you can’t start your car (in this case a Jeep). After the initial sense of panic subsides, there’s a pretty easy solution:
Important note, I only had to push the ignition button with key fob one time. The next time I was in the car, it started right up.

So what exactly is a Fob? As early as the 1880’s fob referred to an ornament attached to a pocket watch chain. Fob is not an abbreviation or acronym but is believed to have come from the German word fuppe, meaning ‘pocket.’ Before key fobs became today’s word for an electronic device they were basically decorative keychains used during the 20th century.
